About Me
I am a psychiatrist that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of psychiatric illnesses.
I completed my MBBCh at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1999 before completing my post-graduate FCPsych(SA) from the College of Medicines South Africa, via the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine in 2006.
I served in the position of Consultant Psychiatrist from 2007-2011 at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital. I have been in private practice since 2009 and Iām currently based at Life Mt Edgecombe and Akeso Umhlanga hospitals in the North of Durban.
I’m also a member of Psych MG and South African Society of Psychiatrists.

My Story
I strongly believe in a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to the management of mental health conditions. This includes biological (pharmacotherapy/medication), psychological (psychotherapy/counseling), and social (lifestyle, diet, and exercise) management of each individual. I embrace an approach that emphasizes holistic patient care as I believe it aids in their journey to mental health and well-being.
I aim to identify the treatment most suited to each patient using a patient-centered care model. Treatment interventions include a collaborative relationship between the patient and the psychiatrist. The therapeutic relationship is thus of utmost importance to me. Therefore I invest time in understanding my patient, their dynamics, and their individual needs.
